Brave Susan

Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Susan. She was an ordinary child and she lived in a village. She went to school with other children by bus every day and had normal lessons and studied subjects like us.

At that time, the children spent their time going to school, doing homework and watching TV at home. None of them dared to play outside the house because there were two monsters who liked to eat children very much. No children could escape from them and the monsters were able to eat ten children in one mouthful. Fortunately, one monster was killed by her friend, Molly. But the another monster was stronger and it was harmful to the villagers.

One day, her mother asked her to give a present to her aunt who lived far away from the village. Susan knew that it would be very dangerous but she couldn't refuse, because this was an order! So after school, she carried her satchel and the present to give to her aunt. It was really a long way! She walked and walked until she arrived at the enterance of a cave. It was dark inside and she couldn't see anything. When she went in, she felt afraid and frightened. Suddenly, there was a sound " Ha ha! Little girl, you will be my supper, I am the strongest monster in the world!"

Susan knew that she met the giant monster and suddenly the cave became bright. She was able to see the monster. Its face was green, its nose and mouth were yellow. Also, its mouth was thousand times bigger than normal people. Of course, Susan was very frightened and she wanted to yell for help, but it was far from the village and nobody could hear her cry.

Susan also knew that she would be the monster's supper if she didn't do something. So, she tried to use her satchel to hit the monster but it was useless, then she try to hit the monsters with her textbooks. It was also useless. The monster laughed loudly and said" don't be silly, if you can use a satchel and few textbooks to defeat me. I couldn't be harmful to the villagers! Now it is my turn!" Then fire came out from its mouth and the present melted." Now, how can you defeat me? you will be my supper and this is a fact. Don't move and I will gobble you up in one mouthful."

The monster opened its emormous mouth and saliva gushing out. Susan suddenly remember the monster was afraid of sharp things so she took out the compass which she had used in the Maths lessons and used it to prick the monster leg. "Ouch! What's it..." " Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!" Susan use the compass to prick heavily in every part of the monster body so blood came out. At last the monster fell down and Susan use the compass once again to prick the monster's heart savagely and plenty of blood seeped out. The cave was flooded with blood and she had to swim in order to escape from the cave. After she left the cave, it completely disappeared and she could still hear a loud noises"Ah! Ouch!!!!"

Everybody could hear the cries and came to the cave and found Susan. They knew the monster had already died and they were extremely happy, they clapped their hands for Susan and called Susan " Big Monster Defeater". Her parents gave her $150000 as a reward and the villagers also gave her presents. Her friend Molly said" You were very brave and smart to use a compass to defeat the giant monster!!

Now, Susan, she was not ordinary anymore. She was a real real hero!!

The Annual Athletics Meet

We had our annual Athletics Meet on the 14th and the 15th December. It was held at Wan Chai Sports Ground. I joined the 100 metre and the 200 metre running races.

The heat of 200 metre running race was held in the morning at about 10:25. I did some warm up exercise before the competition. Of course, I didn't enter the semi-final race because I ran very slowly! Luckily, I was not the only competitors came last . When the judge said" Ready, Set, Go!" All the athletics ran very fast but I ran quite slowly and I nearly came last! I think I was too nervous! Poor me!

The 100 metre running race was held in the afternoon so I didn't eat too much at lunchtime. The result of the 100 metre running race was similar to the 200 metre running race. I was the last one over the line and I wasn't happy about that. The competitors ran like rockets and you know one of the competitors broke the old record and his house was awarded for giving an extra three marks!!

On the last day of the Sports Day, I didn't join in any event and I just helped the captain of Morrison House to sell their products to the spectators. Their products were arm bands and they were quite ugly, I thought. While the other members of Morrison House were cheering for their athletics, I sold products to the spectaors but some of them were not willing to buy them. They thought they were too expensive! However, I did sell 15 of them and earned one hundred and fifty dollars.

My house didn't win and I was quite disapointed. In addition, I got a bad result for my own performance so I felt more upset! But I hope I can win a prize for the house in the future to make a contribution for my house! and I hope we can be the champions house next year!!

Secondary Days

During the past few months, it has happened lots of times. Firstly, I was sick during October. I stayed in the hospital for 12 days and it was boring! Every day I just slept, ate food ,watched televison and the nurse gave me 25 injections!!! This was the most horrible thing has happened in my life!! It was painful, but I did not cry. Luckily, time went fast and I went home on the 22nd October and returned to school five days later. My classmates were happy that they could see me again especially my best friend, Derek. I missed the uniform test and my term marks which will be calculated in the Mid-Year Exam.

I had my English Solo competition but I didn't win. I was disapointed but I will join again next year.( Because I practise less this year so I didn't win!)

Last Tuesday I won the championship of the Chinese solo festival. I thought I was dreaming but I wasn't. Because I read beautifully I got the championship. When my Chinese teacher Miss Li saw the result, she felt happy about that and praised me. This is my first time to get the championship in this competition and my mum bought me a computer game as a reward. She encouraged me a lot and asked me to get good results in both Chinese and English solo versions next year. This proves that if you practise hard, you have a good chance to win!!

Christmas and my birthday will come soon. I am going to go to Ocean Park on my birthday and eat turkey on Christmas Eve. I think we aren't going to decorate our home by using tinsel this year. We won't buy a Christmas tree because there is no space for a giant Christmas tree in my home. I will exchange Christmas presents with my friends or classmates. I hope I can have some special presents on Christmas Day.

This Christmas holiday will be quite bad( I think! )because I don't have much time to relax! I have to revise the subjects in the exam so nearly all of my Christmas holiday will be taken up for revision. I hope I can get full marks in all subjects!!!
