Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Susan. She was an ordinary child and she lived in a village. She went to school with other children by bus every day and had normal lessons and studied subjects like us.
At that time, the children spent their time going to school, doing homework and watching TV at home. None of them dared to play outside the house because there were two monsters who liked to eat children very much. No children could escape from them and the monsters were able to eat ten children in one mouthful. Fortunately, one monster was killed by her friend, Molly. But the another monster was stronger and it was harmful to the villagers.
One day, her mother asked her to give a present to her aunt who lived far away from the village. Susan knew that it would be very dangerous but she couldn't refuse, because this was an order! So after school, she carried her satchel and the present to give to her aunt. It was really a long way! She walked and walked until she arrived at the enterance of a cave. It was dark inside and she couldn't see anything. When she went in, she felt afraid and frightened. Suddenly, there was a sound " Ha ha! Little girl, you will be my supper, I am the strongest monster in the world!"
Susan knew that she met the giant monster and suddenly the cave became bright. She was able to see the monster. Its face was green, its nose and mouth were yellow. Also, its mouth was thousand times bigger than normal people. Of course, Susan was very frightened and she wanted to yell for help, but it was far from the village and nobody could hear her cry.
Susan also knew that she would be the monster's supper if she didn't do something. So, she tried to use her satchel to hit the monster but it was useless, then she try to hit the monsters with her textbooks. It was also useless. The monster laughed loudly and said" don't be silly, if you can use a satchel and few textbooks to defeat me. I couldn't be harmful to the villagers! Now it is my turn!" Then fire came out from its mouth and the present melted." Now, how can you defeat me? you will be my supper and this is a fact. Don't move and I will gobble you up in one mouthful."
The monster opened its emormous mouth and saliva gushing out. Susan suddenly remember the monster was afraid of sharp things so she took out the compass which she had used in the Maths lessons and used it to prick the monster leg. "Ouch! What's it..." " Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!" Susan use the compass to prick heavily in every part of the monster body so blood came out. At last the monster fell down and Susan use the compass once again to prick the monster's heart savagely and plenty of blood seeped out. The cave was flooded with blood and she had to swim in order to escape from the cave. After she left the cave, it completely disappeared and she could still hear a loud noises"Ah! Ouch!!!!"
Everybody could hear the cries and came to the cave and found Susan. They knew the monster had already died and they were extremely happy, they clapped their hands for Susan and called Susan " Big Monster Defeater". Her parents gave her $150000 as a reward and the villagers also gave her presents. Her friend Molly said" You were very brave and smart to use a compass to defeat the giant monster!!
Now, Susan, she was not ordinary anymore. She was a real real hero!!

The Annual Athletics Meet
We had our annual Athletics Meet on the 14th and the 15th December. It was held at Wan Chai Sports Ground. I joined the 100 metre and the 200 metre running races.
The heat of 200 metre running race was held in the morning at about 10:25. I did some warm up exercise before the competition. Of course, I didn't enter the semi-final race because I ran very slowly! Luckily, I was not the only competitors came last . When the judge said" Ready, Set, Go!" All the athletics ran very fast but I ran quite slowly and I nearly came last! I think I was too nervous! Poor me!
The 100 metre running race was held in the afternoon so I didn't eat too much at lunchtime. The result of the 100 metre running race was similar to the 200 metre running race. I was the last one over the line and I wasn't happy about that. The competitors ran like rockets and you know one of the competitors broke the old record and his house was awarded for giving an extra three marks!!
On the last day of the Sports Day, I didn't join in any event and I just helped the captain of Morrison House to sell their products to the spectators. Their products were arm bands and they were quite ugly, I thought. While the other members of Morrison House were cheering for their athletics, I sold products to the spectaors but some of them were not willing to buy them. They thought they were too expensive! However, I did sell 15 of them and earned one hundred and fifty dollars.
My house didn't win and I was quite disapointed. In addition, I got a bad result for my own performance so I felt more upset! But I hope I can win a prize for the house in the future to make a contribution for my house! and I hope we can be the champions house next year!!

Secondary Days
During the past few months, it has happened lots of times. Firstly, I was sick during October. I stayed in the hospital for 12 days and it was boring! Every day I just slept, ate food ,watched televison and the nurse gave me 25 injections!!! This was the most horrible thing has happened in my life!! It was painful, but I did not cry. Luckily, time went fast and I went home on the 22nd October and returned to school five days later. My classmates were happy that they could see me again especially my best friend, Derek. I missed the uniform test and my term marks which will be calculated in the Mid-Year Exam.
I had my English Solo competition but I didn't win. I was disapointed but I will join again next year.( Because I practise less this year so I didn't win!)
Last Tuesday I won the championship of the Chinese solo festival. I thought I was dreaming but I wasn't. Because I read beautifully I got the championship. When my Chinese teacher Miss Li saw the result, she felt happy about that and praised me. This is my first time to get the championship in this competition and my mum bought me a computer game as a reward. She encouraged me a lot and asked me to get good results in both Chinese and English solo versions next year. This proves that if you practise hard, you have a good chance to win!!
Christmas and my birthday will come soon. I am going to go to Ocean Park on my birthday and eat turkey on Christmas Eve. I think we aren't going to decorate our home by using tinsel this year. We won't buy a Christmas tree because there is no space for a giant Christmas tree in my home. I will exchange Christmas presents with my friends or classmates. I hope I can have some special presents on Christmas Day.
This Christmas holiday will be quite bad( I think! )because I don't have much time to relax! I have to revise the subjects in the exam so nearly all of my Christmas holiday will be taken up for revision. I hope I can get full marks in all subjects!!!

Training camp
From the 30th to the 31st of August was my school training camp. We are the F1 boys and of course, this training camp was to let us know the new lifestyle of the college and it is our chance to get to know some new classmates.
I went to school and I saw my classmates were there. Then, we lined up in the school hall and the coach who guided us were up on the stage talking with us." Now this is the training camp! Everyone should obey teachers and our coaches instructions and anyone who did not obey the rules will be punished . Our two days one night camp started now. Stand up and sing the school song!"
Everyone started to sing" Home of our youth..." We had sung this song many times because our voice was too weak. And we will nearly loss our voices. After that, the head of the coaches alloted some other coaches to guide us. Each class was separated into three groups.
We started our first activity on the playground. Everyone had to use their noses to touch a small ball that was tidied on a string about 2 meters high.

Smoking
Today I read a passage about cigarette smoking.
Everyone knows that it is illegel for people under 18 years of age to buy cigarettes and smoke. For people who are 18 years old or above can smoke. But do you know what's the problem of smoking is?
If you smoke continuiously, you may develop a lung inflection and heart problems very easily, I think everyone knows it but why they still continue to smoke. It is mystery!
Some people think that smoking is fun. Actually teenagers think that smoking is cool and shows that they're grown up. But they are only foolish to think this way. You will get differnet types of sickness if you smoke and your family, your friends or other people may suffer because of you. Studies on smoking and health reveals that children whose parents smoke are likely to smoke themselves and they will have to see a doctor frequently.
Smoking is very bad. It causes health to detoriate and you could die as a result. And I hope that there will be no smoking in the society in the future.

Get lost
Have you ever got lost in a forest. Imagine you were a little kid about seven years old all alone in a dark frightening forest at night.
When you walked, you feel very afraid, of course. Suddenly you heard a voice like a ghost crying."whoo, whoo, whooooo... I am looking for you for my supper and I will toast you" When you heard that, what would you feel? Frightened, delighted or worried?
Of course, you would be frightened and some poo poo might be left in your pants. Then, suddenly three ghosts appeared and kidnapped your to their ghost house, a ,maze with 1000 of roads leading no where. They said" Whooooo... Good, Good for supper. Fat meat , fat bones, fat cheek, fat legs, fat toes, fat fingers, fat ears and nose and eyes for dessert!!! The most delicious, yummy food that I have seen! We can chop him into 1 billion pieces and everyone can get 10 pieces to eat for dinner."
"No!!!! Help, don't eat me, if you eat me, you would have to repent!! The policemen will catch you all!" You said.
" What a crazy kid!" They said" Don't listen to him! He has some problem with his brain. Chop him!!!"
" Oh!! Ouch! Goodbye my parents..." said you and you die.
" Eat him now and celebrate!" The leader of the ghost said.
When the ghost started to eat, they vomited.
"Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disgusting food. The poo is very smelly" and the
ghosts die of poo poisoning. Including the ghost leader.

All primary school students and some of the secondary students no need to go to school!
Last Thursday, the goverment decided to close all kindergardens, all primary schools and some of the secondary schools in Hong Kong to stop the spread of H1N1. The goverment also said that they would decide whether or not to close all schools next Tuesday.
My classmates said that" I am very happy! No need to go to school, we may not have to take our assessments, we can play computer games and sleep!"
"Don't be too delighted! I think our school will give us plenty of homework, for example, five pieces of Chinese and English compositons and 20 worksheets. We may need to do lots of pages of workbook and we may have to read plenty of books in order to finish our book reports" said another classmate.
" Yes, I argee with you!" said another classmate." If we have plenty of homework, we should use 100% to do it. We should revise for the coming assessents. You know, I think it is quite difficult. But you can sometimes play computer games or exercise in between studying. This is a very good idea."
After I saw these three e-mails, I think I should study hard to get good marks in the assessments. Of course, I will exercise in between studying. There are lots of worksheets to revise! Poor me!
But I think I can study them probably and get good marks in the assessments!

Assessment is coming
The school Assessment is coming! I have to do lots of revising. I have to revise my Chinese and Maths first because I will have these tests on 12th June, two weeks later! There are plenty of Chinese worksheets, one Chinese workbook. And I have to revise two complete books of Maths and some other worksheets!
Luckily I will have a weekend to revise English and General Studies. I have to revise some of the units of my English book and my workbook and a lot of worksheets( about 20). Also I have to revise my reader book, Space Explorer and two writing worksheets.
For General Studies, I have to revise a complete book with six chapters and another book with one chapter. Also the workbook.
Wow! There are lots of books and worksheets I have to revise! I hope I can revise all of them at least one time and I should prepare for my assessment earlier.
During the assessment, I must be very careful and I should read the questions and answer instructions very carefully.

Cycling
At the weekend, my father and I always went to Tai Po to ride a bicycle. We have our own one so we don't need to hire two bicycles. Each time we ride bicycles for two hours and we ride about 10km per hour.

Bobby and Eric
Today I read a passage about Eric the prefect and Bobby. Bobby wanted to have a bicycle as a present for his birthday. However, his father was unemployed and didn't have enough money to buy for him. So his father gave him an old book instead of a bicycle. Bobby, of course he felt dispointed but he did not complain.
One day when he was walking past a convenience store. He saw Eric was riding a bike. He skidded in a puddle and crashed! He fell down and broke his leg. Bobby called the ambulances to help him but unfortunely they were all busy rescuing the people who were trapped in the landslide. So Bobby asked Eric to hold on to his back while they were rode the bicycle to the nearest hospital.
Luckily, Eric injuries were minor and he was discharged from the hospital and sent home. Eric wanted to give Bobby his bicycle as an appreciation gift. However, Bobby refused to accept because the bike was too expensive.
I want to ask your opinion about this story.
My opinion is:
Eric is very lucky because Bobby helped him a lot.

Amazing Experience with Elephant
Have you ridden an elephant before. How did you feel at the time you rode the elephant? Afraid, excited, happy or was it unforgettable?
I had ridden on an elephant when I traveled in Thailand three years ago. It was taken place in a farm where the trainers helped customers to get on to the back of the elephant. The elephant started to move and I was afraid I might fall down. But luckily this was only my imagination, it didn't come true! After riding on the elephant, my parents bought some bananas and asked me to feed it.
The elephant used its trunks to suck the bananas. When I fed the bananas to the elephant, it not only sucked my banana but also my hand. Luckily my hand was big enough and it was not sucked into the nose of the elephant.
What an amazing experience I have!

ORBIS
-ORBIS is an international non-profit organisation that helps people who have eye problems. Its mission is to help fight blindness worldwide. There is a fully equipped teaching hospital with television studio and classroom on a DC-8 aircraft.
ORBIS has visited seventy-six countries and treated over 22,000 people until now. ORBIS has provided training during three- week medical programmers for developing countries.
If you donate some money, you can make more people who are blind can see again. If you donate a lot of money, you can even provide a training for a group of doctors and nurses. And they can make thousands even hundreds thousands of blind people to see again.
Here is a example how ORBIS has helped a child.
A child called Shengli lives in the mountainous countryside of Chongqing, China, had some problems with his eyes, his family took him to see the local doctor and to a large hospital. But the doctors were unable to help. Then Shengli's father heard that ORBIS was coming to Chongqing. The family's saving were used up so his father was forced to borrow some money from his friends or relatives for expenses. Lastly, ORBIS helped him to regain his sight and he was able to see clearly and go back to school. Shengli was grateful to the doctors and nurses of ORBIS.
My opinion:
This child was very lucky because he can see clearly again and he was able to live a normal life. I can see that ORBIS could help blind people who have eye problems to see again. I hope people can donate money to ORBIS and let the doctors and nurses of ORBIS carry on helping the blind people around the world.

The Family Tree
"The Family Tree" is a simple story for lower grade students. The story is developed from a boy called Johnny. It's his seventh birthday. His father and grandfather picked him up from his school. The plot of the story is very simple. It adopts the question-and-answer style to help reader to follow the plot. For example, what happen next?
Grandpa's life and his old day story are told after that. In his birthday, of course, there were no cakes, ice-cream, birthday presents. His mother only prepared muffins for him.
